Shohei Ohtani hit his 300th career major league home run as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. The leadoff blast came in the bottom of the first inning off Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen and traveled an estimated 409 feet to center field.
Ohtani became the first Japanese-born player to reach the 300 home run mark in MLB. He now has 20 home runs this season and 129 as a member of the Dodgers. The two way star has combined for more than 750 career strikeouts as a pitcher across his time with the Los Angeles Angels and Dodgers.
The Dodgers built an early lead after the home run. Ohtani’s power helped set the tone for the offense. The game turned into a close contest that went to extra innings. Los Angeles held on for an 8-7 victory in the 11th inning. It was the team’s first extra inning game of the 2026 season.
