Major League Baseball teams will wear special American flag themed jerseys on Independence Day this year.
The Nike jerseys feature stars and stripes designs in the numbers. Players will also wear matching red, white, and blue New Era caps and Stance socks. A special “USA 250” patch will appear on the sleeves to mark America’s 250th anniversary.
The league announced the uniforms as part of its celebration for the country’s semiquincentennial. Fans can buy the gear on MLB shop. The same style will also be used during the Home Run Derby at All Star Weekend in Philadelphia.
This marks a return to patriotic uniform elements MLB has used in past July 4 games.
