Jose Siri hit a game winning single in the 10th inning to give the Los Angeles Angels a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday night.
The Angels took the series at home. Mike Trout hit a solo home run in the first inning, and Logan O’Hoppe added another solo shot in the fifth. Reid Detmers pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one hit and striking out nine.
Houston tied the game in the eighth on a home run. In the 10th, Donovan Walton singled to put the automatic runner in scoring position. Siri then singled to left off Bryan Abreu to score Nick Madrigal and end the game.
The win gave the Angels their first series victory against the Astros at Angel Stadium this season. Siri, facing his former team, came through with the clutch hit in extra innings.
