The 27 year old first baseman has gone without a home run in his last 10 games, batting .250 with three RBI and a .629 OPS in that stretch. Since April 30, he ranks near the bottom among qualified hitters in ISO, slugging percentage, OPS, and wRC+.
Media and fans have noted the prolonged rough patch, with some pointing out that Guerrero Jr. wears his frustration openly. At the same time, he continues to show strong hard hit rates in recent at bats and appears on daily “due” lists for power based on underlying metrics.
The son of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. remains a central piece of the Blue Jays lineup. No changes to his role have been announced as the team works through its current stretch.
